November 7, 2005 If you're curious about the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT), you can check out their site here. And if you'd like to see a pic of their honeycomb mirror, check this out. A for today's gag: For those of you who weren't around in the 1980's, Honeycomb cereal used to run TV commercials with a bunch of kids singing a really annoying song that had the following Shakespeareian lyrics: Honeycomb's big! Even as a kid watching that, it annoyed me. Since when has there been a huge demand for large pieces of cereal? I mean, the actual *boxes* of Honeycomb were the same size as other cereals. They just have bigger individual pieces. And as a kid you could barely fit one of them in your mouth and they tasted like old Cheerios. I don't know who was in the board room and said "Hey, I know! BIG cereal!". I kept waiting for the day when they took it too far... Now Honeycomb's huge! But I digress. Let's talk about Jenn! The character of Jenn was really only designed as an interesting neighbor to suffer from collateral damage. But she ended up growing into a major character. In fact, Eric Burns of Websnark considers Jenn to be the main character of C&A. That wasn't really the intention, but hey, if people enjoy any part of the strip, I'm happy. I am beginning to see that there is a demographic of C&A readers who are big Jenn fans. I call them Jennophiles. So, to all you Jennophiles out there, I thought you should know about Jenn Brozek's Jenn page. Jenn Brozek is a real life person who the character of Jenn is (very loosely) based on. She made a page on her own website to track C&A comics that have Jenn in them. So if you ever feel like reading *just* the C&As with Jenn in them, check this page out. -ATW |
